“Kyle XY started as a brilliant, grounded sci-fi mystery about an amnesiac boy with no belly button. The first seasons excelled as an intelligent thriller centered on secret human GMO cloning and learning social norms. Sadly, the later seasons ruined the show by pivoting to absurd, fantasy-like supernatural powers and purile teen melodrama. Highly likely the original skilled writers were replaced with random dimwit hacks. Idea and first half: 10/10. Second half: 0/10. P.S. A conspiracy theory claims the show was canceled because the name Kyle XY was reminding people about the natural binary sex-determination system XY, conflicting with the new multi gender ideology propaganda in US.”
